Hello! I am Dr Alaa El Gharib, originally from Cairo, Egypt where I graduated from medical school in 2014.I have been working as a family physician since 2016 with special interest in womens health and also held an academic role an Assistant Lecturer at Ain Shams University in Cairo before moving to the UK in 2021.
I am now in my third year of GP training and work part-time so I can spend more time with my two lovely daughters, aged 8 and 2. They are complete opposites; my eldest is a little princess, while my youngest is full of energy and keeps us all laughing! She has the most infectious giggle, you simply can’t help but laugh along.
I feel very fortunate to have the wonderful support of my parents. Outside of work, I love spending quality time with my daughters, keeping active through regular workouts, and enjoying my passion for belly dance, which is not only fun, but also a fantastic workout!
