Chris joined Grove Medical Practice in February 2024. He works in the acute team as a Paramedic Practitioner seeing mainly urgent on-the-day patients. He joined the East of England Ambulance Service in 2001 and has worked locally as a paramedic for much of his career, moving to a General Practice role in early 2023.
He is currently studying Advanced Practice at the University of East Anglia and plans to progress to a prescribing course on completion.
He has a professional interest in expedition and wilderness medicine which often leads him to the Canadian Arctic.
In his spare time Chris enjoys the river locally, often by boat with his partner and their two dogs.

I am a South African born and bred paramedic by background, starting my career on the streets of Johannesburg some 13 years ago.  Four countries and many experiences later, find me with my other half and two children in beautiful Cambridgeshire.  I have a passion for learning and making a positive difference to my patients’ journeys, and volunteer with a community support group on some of my days off.  The rest of my time, when not with family and running around after two children, (three cats, a rabbit and snake), is spent in the garden and exploring new scenic places.

Punyaja is an experienced First Contact Physiotherapist. A First Contact Physiotherapist can help patients with musculoskeletal issues such as back, neck and joint pain by assessing and diagnosing issues. giving expert advice on how best to manage their conditions. referring them onto specialist services if necessary.

Punyaja started working in a first contact role following her postgraduation in Physiotherapy from Cardiff University in 2022. Punyaja’s practice has encompassed India, Wales and England over six years so far. Having moved to St Ives in the New Year, Punyaja brings a commitment to serve the community as part of the team Grove Medical Practice.

Last year, Punyaja expanded her skill set by training extensively for steroid injection therapy and is excited to continue practicing this. In her free time, Punyaja enjoys socialising, playing badminton, vegan activism, cycling, and most recently yoga.
